A personal process

The meaning comes first.

Before discussing a setting, Shari wants to understand why the piece matters, what you do and do not love about it, and what would make you reach for it again. The design follows from that conversation.

Start with a photo of the piece and a note about what must stay. You can explore changes in the design studio before sending your ideas to Shari. She will review the condition of the original stones, the proposed setting, and your budget with you.

Investment

Every piece is quoted individually, once Shari understands what you have in mind and what it means to you. Budget is part of the conversation, never a gate.

Can my grandmother's diamond be reset into a new ring?

Usually, yes. Shari examines each stone first, including its condition and whether it can be safely removed, then designs a setting that suits both the stone and the way you want to wear it.

Do I need to bring the piece to the studio?

A photo and a note about what must stay are enough to begin. Shari will want to see the piece in person at your appointment before confirming a design, because the condition of the stones and metal shapes what is possible.

How much does an heirloom redesign cost?

Heirloom redesigns are quoted individually, based on the stones and metal you bring, any stones added, and the design itself. Shari discusses budget at the first appointment and confirms the price before any work begins.

Can the original gold be reused?

Sometimes. It depends on the karat and condition of the metal and on the new design. Shari will explain the options so you can decide what to keep.

What if I am not sure what I want?

That is a common place to start. Tell Shari why the piece matters and what you do and do not love about it. You can also explore directions in the online design studio before your appointment.
