For New Jersey clients

A custom jeweler for New Jersey clients, in Manhattan

Yes. I welcome clients from New Jersey. My private studio at 70 Bowery in Manhattan is close to Canal Street, a short drive from the Holland Tunnel, and visits are by appointment so your time in the city is well planned. Custom engagement rings, fine jewelry, and heirloom redesigns follow the same one-on-one process for every client.

Clients come to my studio on the Bowery from across the Hudson because they want to work one-on-one with a jeweler they trust, and a trip into Manhattan becomes part of the occasion. I make sure each visit is worth the journey.

What New Jersey clients come to me for

Getting to the studio

The studio is at 70 Bowery, New York, NY 10013, near Canal Street on the edge of Chinatown and the Lower East Side. The building spans 70 to 72 Bowery, so you may see either number in listings.

If you drive, the Holland Tunnel brings you into lower Manhattan not far from Canal Street, and from there the Bowery is a straight run east. If you prefer transit, NJ Transit and PATH trains connect to the subway, and several lines stop within a short walk of the studio. I am happy to suggest the easiest route when we confirm your appointment.

Making the most of each visit

Because I see clients by private appointment, your time is reserved and unhurried. To keep trips into the city to a sensible number, I plan ahead with each client:

  • Before the first visit, you can send photographs of inspiration or of an heirloom, or explore a direction in the online design studio and send it to me.
  • At the first appointment, we talk through the design, budget, and timing, and look at the materials in person.
  • Between visits, I can share options and answer questions by phone or email.
  • Choosing the stone and approving the design is best done in person, and we often combine them.
  • Collection happens at the studio, where we check the fit together.

Timing

Custom pieces often take six to ten weeks once the design is approved, and the whole process often takes two to four months from the first conversation. If you are planning around a proposal or anniversary, tell me early. My timeline guide explains each stage.

Budget

Every piece is quoted individually, after we have talked through what you have in mind. Budget is part of that conversation, and I will always tell you where it makes the most difference.

Why make the trip

I have designed fine jewelry in New York since 1984. I am GIA-trained, I spent my early career in the industry, including at Macy's and David Yurman, and I work primarily with natural diamonds. More than anything, you work with me directly from the first sketch to the finished piece. If that is the experience you want, it is a short trip.
